UPTET or Uttar Pradesh Teaching Eligibility Test is conducted to recruit candidates for various teaching posts in government-regulated schools across the state of UP. It is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Exam Regulatory Authority on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBED). Candidates who clear the UPTET examination become eligible to apply for primary level (classes 1 to 5) or upper primary level (classes 6 to 8) teacher posts depending upon the paper for which they have appeared.

To start the preparation, it is important to know the UPTET exam pattern. There are two papers that the candidates can appear for: Paper 1 and 2. Paper 1 is for candidates aspiring to become teachers of classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for those seeking teaching positions for classes 6 to 8. Those who wish to teach classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both papers. Both papers contain multiple-choice questions. You can’t choose the same language for both language papers. General category candidates need to obtain 60% to qualify, and reserved category candidates need 55%.
